When we talk about Google cloud hosting, it is one of the best and most popular hosting providers worldwide. If we talk about the most used hosting globally, then Google’s cloud hosting comes in second place. Amazon Web Services is in the first place.

If you want to host your website on google, you need to pay some bucks to host a website. But there is another way you can host your website on google for free, and in this article, I can tell you how you can host your website on google for free.

Follow the five steps given below to host your static website built with html/CSS/javascript on the google cloud server for free:

  1. Buy/Registered your Domain Name
  2. Create an account on Google Cloud
  3. Verify ownership of your Domain
  4. Connect your Domain to cloud storage
  5. Complete the website set up

I think you have registered your domain name and have your domain name, and also you created the google cloud account. Now let’s started with the Ownership verification of your Domain.

  • Verify Ownership of Domain

First of all, go to the webmaster search console and add a property to verify your domain name. Now it’s time to point your Domain to the cloud storage and to point your Domain first you need to create a CNAME record which points your Domain www.xyz.com to the c.storage.googleapis.com.

Now into your Domain’s DNS settings add a record and choose CNAME in the name box enter www and in the point to box enter c.storage.googleapis.com. And your Domain is now verified.

  • Setup the website

Now it’s time to set up your website into Google cloud storage. To do that you need to create a bucket in Google cloud storage, and you can create a bucket by going into google cloud console and in the Storage click on Create Bucket.

In the Name, box enters your domain name — for example, www.xyz.com. The second step is to choose the Default Storage Class, and you need to select the Multi-Regional. And finally, select the nearest location from the Location dropdown box and click on Create.

Once Bucket is created, and your website is set up correctly update all the permission and Add members. Select all Member box members and define a role for the member in the Roles box by selecting the Storage Object Viewer. And at last click on the Add button to add a member.

Now upload all your files of the website in your Bucket and Update the website configuration by changing the Main Page to index.html and adding the error page if needed and clicking on the Save button.

This guide on how to host your website for free on the Google cloud helps you in hosting your website on the google cloud storage. Thank you so many guys for being with me at the end of the article.
